Patriarchy wins every time……

When the home she is born into, is suddenly not her home anymore.

When despite giving her all, the house she is married-into is still not her home after years.

When she is shown the way out, each time she voices her opinion in ‘her parent’s house’ or ‘her husband’s house’.

When a woman feels empowered, showing the daughter-in-law ‘her place’.

When a girl is expected to hold all ‘fun’ for the time till she is married, and then take on responsibilities as soon as she is!

When a woman dies needing rescue, because the family she is born into does not ‘interfere’, as she belongs to a different family!

When a victim is suggested to keep quiet to keep her image clean!

When the most-used verbal abuse terms centre around females (and females use these terms feeling equal!)

When a girl feels empowered every time she behaves like boys.

When the workplace recognises male counterparts, despite women counterparts being more efficient, sincere, and multi-tasking.

When women shy away from voicing their opinion, just to ‘gel-in’.

When despite all the welcome changes in society, the man ‘helps’ in the house chores – they are not his primary duty.

When a half-naked man chastises women for their choice of wear.

I choose to challenge!!

Will that help? Maybe, maybe not…

Should that stop me? Definitely Not!!
