Actress Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul have finally tied the knot after years of dating. On Monday, the lovers married in a small ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. The wedding ceremony was an intimate affair, and the couple looked absolutely gorgeous with each other. The wedding festivities started on Saturday when social media started to be flooded with images and videos highlighting the farmhouse’s décor, which included pastel-coloured floral decorations. The family invited their relatives and close friends to a sangeet ceremony and cocktail party on Sunday night.
The couple’s wedding was the focus of ongoing media rumours for a while, with a new one regarding their nuptials emerging every six months. Even Suniel Shetty continuously dismissed the rumours, while Athiya and KL Rahul kept quiet. But on Sunday, everything was different. Suniel eventually revealed that the couple was getting married on Monday as the paparazzi set up shop outside the venue—the first-ever public confirmation.
The families of KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty reportedly agreed to adopt a “no phone policy,” asking the estimated 100 guests not to upload any pictures or videos on social media. Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul will pose together for photos with the media after their wedding, Suniel Shetty promised the paps.
According to reports, close friends of Suniel Shetty from the Hindi film industry, including superstar Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff, and Akshay Kumar, were invited to the wedding. It was also rumoured that actor Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor, who is supposed to be close to the bride, also attended the wedding.
The couple looked extremely chic and royal in the peach-coloured pastel palette outfits. Athiya looked no less than a queen in her lehenga, which had embellished dupattas and tulle blouse, whereas KL Rahul was equally debonair in his sherwani, which added to the cricketer’s aura. The couple’s first photographs showed them candidly, and we are just so in love with them!
