The interim budget for 2024-25 has been a progressive all-inclusive budget that will help us become Atmanirbar and be the 3’d largest global economy in a few decades. (a) The budget has focused on uplifting the lives of the weaker sections of society, women’s welfare, helping the farmers and the youth with a massive push for infrastructure development which will be a boon for employment and taking the economy forward. (b) Rooftop solarization of 1.0 million houses is a brilliant move to provide green energy to the socio-economically backward and promote savings on energy bills to generate employment (c) From a healthcare perspective – (i) Promoting cervical cancer vaccine and integration of maternal and childcare schemes is a very positive move.
(il) More medical colleges coming up will extend our healthcare to reach semi-urban and rural areas. (iii) Extension of the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ program is a welcome move (iv) The U-Win platform and Mission lndradhanush program will significantly help in boosting our immunization program. (d) There was some speculation about decreasing taxes which did not happen. Overall a positive budget helps all sections of society.
