“The India Budget 2024 champions a decade of remarkable progress in women’s empowerment. With thirty crore Mudra Yojana loans and a twenty-eight percent increase in female enrolment in higher education, the government emphasizes women’s active participation in diverse sectors. The focus on STEM courses, where women constitute forty-three percent of enrolment, highlights India’s commitment to gender inclusivity in education.

Reserving one-third of seats in legislative assemblies for women, and allocating over seventy percent of PM Awas Yojana houses to women as sole or joint owners strengthen women’s dignity and rights. The disclosure of 34 crore Mudra Yojana loans for women entrepreneurs reflects a dedication to financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Overall, the budget signifies a comprehensive effort to boost women’s entrepreneurship, improve their quality of life, and uphold their dignity, fostering increased workforce participation.”-

“The India Budget 2024 brings positive news for the retail sector with reduced and rationalized tax rates. Taxpayers with incomes up to ₹7 lakh now have no tax liability, up from ₹2.2 lakh in 2013-14. The threshold for presumptive taxation in retail businesses increases from ₹2 crore to ₹3 crore, and for professionals, it rises from ₹50 lakh to ₹75 lakh. Existing domestic companies benefit from a corporate tax rate drop from 30% to 22%, and new manufacturing companies enjoy a reduced rate of 15%. These measures create a favourable environment for the retail sector, supporting business growth and economic stability.”- Ms. Gunjan Taneja, co-founder of UClean.
