Travel has always been more than just a passion for me; it’s been a lifeline, a source of joy, and a path to healing. Since 2016, I’ve embraced the freedom and discovery that solo travel brings, each destination etching unforgettable memories on my heart. But in 2021, after the world began to heal from the lockdown, my travels took on a new, heartwarming dimension. Mishti, my four-month-old furry daughter, became my constant companion. Together, we ventured into the serene hill stations of Uttarakhand and beyond, our bond deepening with every step.
From the tranquil shores of Bhimtal to the rugged beauty of Spiti Valley, our journeys were more than just trips; they were stories we wrote together.
Traveling with Mishti required careful planning, from choosing pet-friendly homestays to ensuring her favorite toys were packed. We always had her health records ready, making check-ins smooth, and sought out trails that welcomed her with open arms.
During our adventures, I noticed a gap in resources for pet parents like me who wanted to explore the world with their furry companions. Inspired by our experiences, I founded Furgetaway, a community that transformed our travel experiences. Furgetaway connected us with other pet parents who shared our dream of seamless travel with their furry friends. This community made it easier to find pet-friendly accommodations and fostered a culture of understanding and acceptance.
The impact of Furgetaway on our journeys has been profound. It not only provided access to pet-friendly accommodations but also built a supportive network of like-minded travelers. The occasional judgmental stares and territorial barks from local canines became less daunting as we found strength in numbers.
Today, Furgetaway has grown to over 6,000 members, each with their own travel stories. It shows the joy of exploring the world with a pet and reminds us that with the right support, the journey is as rewarding as the destination. It stands as a testament to the happiness of having a pet by your side and the power of community in overcoming challenges. With Furgetaway, every journey is not just possible but magical.
