My entrepreneurial journey began in 2018 when I launched Shaista’s from my home kitchen in Noida. Fueled by a deep passion for cooking and a desire for financial independence, I turned my culinary skills into a thriving business while balancing my responsibilities as a mother. Caring for my ill mother reinforced my belief in the healing power of food, shaping Shaista’s into a brand rooted in love, care, and quality.

Starting small, I used WhatsApp and word-of-mouth to provide hygienic, home-cooked meals. Over time, Shaista’s evolved into a multi-brand venture, including Mommylicious Mealbox and Zaika-e-Khaas, catering to diverse tastes while upholding the same core values. The pandemic further deepened my commitment to social impact, leading me to serve underprivileged communities and COVID patients. This experience inspired me to establish my NGO, JHOLA MAKER, which empowers underprivileged women by equipping them with skills and economic opportunities.
Born in Odisha, with roots in Andhra Pradesh, married to someone from Punjab and raised with Bengali influences, my life has been a vibrant fusion of cultures. Each experience added a unique flavor to my journey, from the robust spices of South Indian cuisine to the rich Mughlai delicacies and the subtle sweetness of Bengali dishes. These cultural intersections have not only shaped my culinary expertise but have also taught me adaptability, innovation, and the importance of genuine human connections. Moving to Gurgaon in 2005, I found solace in recreating familiar flavors, which eventually became the foundation of my business. Each meal I prepared carried a legacy, telling stories through taste and aroma, creating a bridge between tradition and contemporary preferences.
From a home kitchen in 2018 to a commercial setup in 2021 and finally transitioning to a multi-brand kitchen model in 2023, my business has grown dynamically. Alongside these achievements, my dedication to social impact continues through my NGO and collaborations with other organizations, combining business with purpose.
For women navigating diverse cultural landscapes, my advice is simple. Be open to learning from different cultures and experiences. Blend heritage with creativity to carve your niche. Relationships form the backbone of success. Authenticity creates meaningful impact. Every challenge is a stepping stone to growth. Use multicultural experiences as a strength. Food is more than sustenance; it is a universal language of love and connection. My journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and purpose, proving that with an open heart and a bold spirit, dreams can truly flourish beyond borders.
