The FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week ended on 27th March but what caught our eyes instantly was the promotion of sustainable fashion on the ramp. So here we are with some of the sassiest celeb looks that stole the show.
Payal Pratap’s ‘Java’ collection showcases the designer’s talent in colorful designs. The collection includes hand-painted artworks that have been digitized, as well as flora and wildlife motifs such as flowers, leaves, trees, vines, and birds.
Shruti Haasan walked the runway for Adidas Originals x Antar Agni, looking grunge-chic in a black pantsuit and braided hair. “Antar-Agni depicts revolution and emancipation with burned orange, teal blue, ivories, and black to create a strong contrast with flowing, matte-sheen textiles.” The collection’s “subtle play of graphic embroideries and abstract placements of layers enhance the fluid silhouettes coupled with sharpness,” Lakmé Fashion Week’s official Instagram account said about it.
Kangana Ranaut stole the show for Khadi and Village Industries (KVIC), strolling the runway in an ivory khadi sari and trench coat. This is what Kangana wrote on her Instagram account, “To be truly global one has to be truly local first. Khadi can be hope for entire world which is struggling with the pollution from the fashion industry …. Millions of Tons of synthetic fabric are thrown in the ocean every year and fashion industry wastes are destroying the soil, air, and water equally… Khadi an organic and environment-friendly fabric is the ultimate resolution the world is seeking…
Designer Divyam Mehta debuted his ‘Made from Agricultural Waste’ collection in cooperation with AltMat, a company that creates textiles from agricultural waste. This capsule collection includes drapes, hybrid patterns, hand tailoring, and Kantha work. It’s also a play on the silhouettes of the Dongria Kondh tribe.
