The most awaited fashion show by Lakme was conducted and the theme of it came under this year was the “Earthbound” range and the show named under the theme, “Lakme Absolut Explore”, which was exploring and bringing back the 80’s fashion trends.

The 80’s fashion trends included bringing back big and bold colours, bright colours, rock chic and statement styles making fashion vibrant. Indian fashion to has made a change in terms of styles and what is in and what is out. Some of the trends that are changing Indian styles in the market and are game-changers are discussed below.

Khadi –

The fabric is trending throughout the year and since it’s been famous since the Swadeshi movement, it has been a game-changer in Indian fashion for fashionistas since, Kangana Ranaut was seen sporting a khadi saree with a summer trench coat, making everyone turn heads over heels for her killer looks.

Skirts –

Creased skirts containing folds and creases have also made a comeback trend and are the perfect way to start the summer with those ankle-length skirts. The best combinations for a skirt in terms of colours are white and red.

Bold sleeves –

Now balloon, flounced, puff or bishop sleeves are back in trend. Changes in the fabric have made the sleeves more sparkly and glowing.

Oversized –

Being oversized or even wearing oversized clothes does not mean that it is not fashionable. The long jacket with voluminous sleeves can be paired with boots, drainpipe pants or palazzos. It can be worn as even a dressy jacket.

Designer Bhumika Sharma added, “this season would be seeing a lot of delicate and subtle prints with intricate embroideries with more pinks and mauves”. Fashion ultimately is all about having people express themselves through choosing bright colours and style that adds to their confidence and is the ultimate key to staying up with the trends. Designer duo Pankaj and Nidhi stated how embellished and embroidered skirts would be staying big for both summer and spring seasons and that colour embroidered would be ruling the wardrobes throughout the year.
