Waiting for children to come home
Anticipation of tumultuous welcome
Soft smiles, joy in the heart,
They are coming, waiting in happiness
Gratitude for blessings, head bows
Waiting at the Doctors? Expecting
Diagnosis with bated breath
Stressed brows, moist eyes
Tension palpable heart thumping loud
Prayers please hear, please heal
Its all the same, waiting, hanging around,
Lingering, standing by, watching,
Sticking on, tarrying, synonyms,
But what difference in emotions
Evoked, isn’t it? I marvel at ourselves.
