A Space for Love, Compassion and Self-Discovery

My name is Aura and I am a Yoga ‘teacher’ as per the world. But the truth is that no one’s a teacher and everyone’s a learner when it comes to the Yogic journey.
When I got certified to teach I decided I want to change the notion of Yoga being an old and passive way of workout.
I found a way through my passion for nature and animals.  There is a  transformative and healing connection between humans, nature and animals. I have embarked on a unique journey, bringing together the practice of yoga in serene local villages in the form of retreats and Yoga with rescue animals when in the city.  Through my classes, we create a space of love, compassion, and self-discovery, where both humans and pups can find strength and companionship.
Being the founder of an Animal Rescue organisation as well (Tales of Tailss), I was lucky to find a way to combine my 2 passions. Through the classes, we spread the message that indie dogs or desis are beautiful companions and should be adopted.
Through these classes, I met various humans struggling through life, who felt stuck in the hustle of the city. It was then that I realised that our predominantly rural country is full of hidden villages which are serene, peaceful, and look like they exist in another time. I now curate retreats on weekends where I take a small group of people to a small village. We live like a community, practise yoga and meditation near secret waterfalls, meadows and village trails and come back after the experience.

Through my work, I want to further the cause of Vocal for Local. Yoga is an Indian practice and our countrymen do not value it the way it should be valued. Similarly, our desi dogs are best suited for our country’s climate and make amazing pets.

We need to value our indigenous practices and animals. India is magical, only if we stop to look around. I hope to bring this realisation through my practice, one pose, one breath and one wagging tail at a time.
