The field of nutrition demands a multifaceted understanding that spans clinical practice, preventive health, and food science. Pranjal’s professional development as a dietitian has been shaped by diverse and complementary experiences across these domains—including one year of applied nutrition practice in a fitness club, a six-month clinical internship at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, and a 45-day internship in nutritional analysis and food safety at FICCI FRAC Labs.
During her tenure at the fitness club, she worked extensively with individuals pursuing body composition goals, performance enhancement, and overall wellness. This experience honed her ability to design individualised, goal-oriented nutrition plans and deliver evidence-based counseling tailored to various lifestyle needs. I developed a strong foundation in sports and fitness nutrition, with a focus on optimizing macronutrient distribution, nutrient timing, and behavioral adherence.
In contrast, her clinical internship at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital provided exposure to therapeutic nutrition and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) in a hospital setting. I assisted in formulating diet plans for patients with complex clinical conditions including Type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular disorders, and gastrointestinal pathologies. Working alongside physicians and healthcare professionals deepened her understanding of interdisciplinary care and the critical role of nutrition in disease prevention and management.
Her internship at FICCI FRAC Labs further expanded my expertise into the realm of food science and nutritional quality assurance. Here, she was trained in food composition analysis, labeling compliance, and safety regulations—an experience that emphasized the scientific and regulatory underpinnings of public health nutrition and consumer transparency.
Collectively, these experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive, integrative perspective on dietetics—bridging preventive and therapeutic nutrition with a sound understanding of food systems and quality control. As she continues to grow in the profession, she remain committed to advancing individualised, evidence-based nutrition care while aligning with broader public health and food safety standards.
