On the occasion of International Women’s Day March 8th, 2025, I wish to pay homage to my Beloved Mother who was the very embodiment of Love, Affection, Selfless Sacrifice and Tolerance.
The maxim in Sanskrit says, “Matru Devo Bhava.” A mother is the manifestation of God in flesh and blood. There is Godliness in every woman. She is Para Sakthi, Lakshmi and Saraswathi – all imbibed into one entity, a woman.
A woman is the nucleus of any family. A married woman assumes many roles in her life, a daughter, daughter in law, sister-in-law, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother etc. A working woman plays other roles too outside her home. It is really amazing to see modern women who show their mettle in every field starting from the domestic front to the War front. Yes, today Education has taken women to greater heights. They are in no way inferior to Men. They work hand in hand with the men and the disparity is gradually diminishing in the society.
Women are called Gruha Lakshmi. Every woman adds to the glory of the house. But for her, the family appears like a fallen tree uprooted by a storm.
Women are considered to be emotional and not strong hearted. But these emotions only bind them to their family. Their love and sacrifice, determination and willpower only enable them to strengthen the family ties. They are able to raise their children in a proper way by teaching them the ethics of life and shaping them into good citizens. Good families make a good Society, a State, Nation, and the World as a whole.
Women are the shapers of our Destiny. Let all women in the world pledge to follow the theme of IWD 2025 which is Acceleration and Action. Let us not simply glorify the achievements of women. The time now is to strive hard for the Tomorrow we want to see.
Show to the world that “The Hand that rocks the Cradle, rules the World.”
